Long Bio
All the ingredients were there from the start.
An unexpected push came soon after my mother died. Something dear was lost. The image of a rooster looking for something flew into my mind. A story evolved. A children’s book writer was born. I write to carry on my mother’s legacy of connecting with children. I write from the child in my heart to share stories about courage, persistence, and compassion
Growing up with a kindergarten teaching mother, a word-fanatic father,
a piano, a parakeet, and an imaginary sister, I was destined to write musical, fanciful, animal stories for children.
As a child, I performed on stage and learned to keep an audience engaged.
As a grown up, I continued to perform in children’s theatre and taught creative drama to children
With education courses from Teacher’s College under my belt. I discovered ways to make learning fun and meaningful and then applied these to teaching Communication to college students and writing how-to scripts for corporations.
Mixing all the ingredients of my life together and molding them with tools from training at SCBWI, 12×12 challenge, and The Writer’s Loft, I create entertaining read-aloud books.
I live in NYC with my pet fish, Atilla, getting a daily dose of nature by walking in parks accompanied by audiobooks. Atilla prefers to stay home.
Where I Write
At home, I write with an erasable pen on paper, sipping green tea.
While walking, I write in a tiny notebook, sipping inspiration from tress, birds, and sky.

How I write
Sometimes words drop into my head lickety split. Those words make me happy.
Sometimes ideas percolate for a long time. Those ideas buzz around and try my patience.
All the time, I write and re-write…
